If you are in the market for a getaway that is a bit special and boutique then this is the place. Nestled in grape vines, truffles, figs and orchards, the retreat offers a perfect place to reset- with comfortable, warm and modern interiors. Thanks so much Rebecca and Pete. Your space is just gorgeous and made a really special little escape away for us. The beds are supreme and the linen was so soft (we all noted down the make ). We loved the underfloor heating and sitting on the deck and marvelling at the bird life. Thanks for offering us the bikes and all the useful visitor information - Lake Rotoiti was stunning! Thank you also for the generous extras, your breakfast supplies were just perfect and fruit and vegetables from the garden made us feel really connected and welcome. Those figs- yum!! Just wow really! Thank you so much!
Great place. Lovely location in the countryside, peaceful and relaxing. The Retreat is well equipped and very comfortable, and the breakfasts are to die for!
Rebecca and Pete are the most gracious hosts. Never have we had two nicer and accommodating people. The fresh vegetables from their garden, fresh bread, museli, fresh jams, and juice. Every amenity you could possibly want to cook beautiful dinners and meals. The River Road retreat is a true gem and the most relaxing and beautiful place you can stay in Upper Moutere, NZ. Thanks, Rebecca and Pete!
I can not state enough how excellent our stay was. The setting is beautiful, the home modern with nice furnishings and appliances, and thoughtful inclusions that made the stay relaxing. We found this to be a great launch point for our excursions into Nelson, Abel Tasman for the water taxi/cruises, and the wine tasting in the more immediate area. If you can, highly recommend a tour with Rebecca or Pete of the truffle farm and an introduction to their truffle dog Meg - an enlightening experience and fun walk about. Additionally, my travel companion and I had a couple complicated dietary requirements that was easily addressed. The fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden were really nice. Will definitely stay here when visiting Nelson on our next visit.
We have travelled extensively and this is definitely one of our most favourite Airbnb's so far. Rebecca is a wonderful host and the property is in an idyllic setting. Highly recommended.
Loved this place with its lovely vibe, surrounded by established trees and gardens, with magnificent sunsets over the mountain backdrop to the west. Quiet location, not far from all the area has to offer, with astute culinary recommendations provided by our hosts, who also pampered us with healthy breakfast treats. Highly recommended!
